You are here too, then. That is a relief. We should attempt to find each other.

I am currently standing near a stalagmite. It is about four feet in height, and at its base its circumference appears to measure about a foot and a half. Its surface is mostly smooth, but there are some protuberances. Each of these are approximately two square inches in size, and they are spaced out unevenly over the stalagmite's surface. Its color is a shade of green, possibly indicating the presence of oxidized copper, but its tint is deepened in some places. This may be due to a reaction with skin oils, which suggests that it has been touched.

[OH he knows that stalagmite! even without the picture he could recognize it near-immediately... alas there is some sort of wall (glass? it's obviously clear and he can touch it) preventing him from reentering the cave. cousiiiin....... ;A;]

I had already vacated the cave and cannot reenter. There seems to be an invisible barrier preventing entry. You will have to meet with me.

Look towards the left of that stalagmite. It is faint, but there should be a beaten-down pathway within that area surrounded by several columns-- follow it. There is no need to worry about misjudging a turn, as the path is completely linear. It leads straight to the mouth of the cavern, where I am waiting.

[Reiichi's directions are nothing if not meticulously clear, and sending one last text of confirmation -] I can see the path! Please remain waiting. I will soon join you. [- Hikami makes his way down the indicated path, resisting the urge to stop every now and then to examine the marvelous rock formations. This cave... it's such an interesting place! But what was that about not being able to reenter it? He simply must return to study some of the mineral sediments at some point... Ah, he'll find a way!

But the cave grows lighter and lighter, and soon enough the exit is only a few feet away. He blinks against the relatively harsh light, shielding his sensitive eyes with his arm. It feels like he's been underground for weeks, and he's about to contemplate this when he notices that familiar figure.]

Ah, niisan! [Laughing entirely too boisterously, still squinting as his eyes adjust to the light of day, he approaches his cousin.] Did you see those phosphorescent mosses? I have never seen any instance of bioluminescence this bright before!
